MICHAEL NEVITT
Principal Designer and President

Michael Nevitt has spent 30+ years of entertainment industry.  First as a freelancer, then in 2011, Michael joined forces with other designers to create Crossfade Design, LLC.  During that time, he has created designs for small, medium and large-scale events worldwide. He remains an owner and Principal Designer.  He also serves as President of the corporation and guides its overall business operations.

As Resident Lighting Designer for 13 seasons at the Hope Summer Repertory Theatre in Holland, Michigan, he designed scenery and/or lighting for over 40 theatrical productions.  His other theatre work has been extensive including designing at the Mark Tapor Forum(Tapor Too) Theatre and programming the National Tour of Titanic the Musical. Beyond that, he has been involved with hundreds more theatre productions, concert tours, television and live event productions. Including events like the Salt Lake Olympics, Super Bowl Half-time show, Deal or No Deal, The Man Show and the Ryder Cup Opening Ceremonies. His Motion Picture production highlights include: The Grinch, Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, Miss Congeniality, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Batman & Robin and Danny Collins.

Michael is one of the foremost Designers in Combat Sports television. From 2013-2018, Michael served as Lighting Director for 100+ HBO Boxing broadcasts. Since 2018, he has worked as Lighting Designer for Top Rank on ESPN Boxing. In 2020, Michael added Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships as a client and continues to collaborate as Production Designer. He has served in various capacities with WWE over the years including Programmer, Lighting Designer and Production Designer.

He was part of the team for development of several successful lighting/video control systems with Flying Pig Systems and Martin Professional. His consulting projects include Detroit’s Little Caesar’s Arena, Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena, Buffalo Sabres Hockey, Table Mountain Casino Events Center near Fresno, CA, Kentucky Center for the Arts’ Paristown Hall and Jewish Community Center. Both in Louisville, KY.

Some of the proudest moments of Michael’s career have occurred outside the “bright lights”. Instead serving as a mentor at his high school alma mater - Floyd Central HS in Indiana.  In 2017, he designed the high school premier of Newsies with his son Connor in a leading role. The production was chosen to perform at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, NE in June 2018.  In 2021, he had another opportunity to design Spongebob Squarepants the Musical with his daughter Cassidy as a featured character. Also chosen to perform (virtually due to Covid) at the International Thespian Festival in June 2022.

Michael is proud of his education where received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatrical Design from University of Evansville and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Theatrical Lighting Design from UCLA.
